China raises interest rates in bid to cool inflation (India Daily)

China raised interest rates Friday for a fifth time this year in a bid to curb rising inflation. Rates on loans will rise by 0.27 percent to 7.29 percent as of Saturday, the Central Bank said. Rates paid on bank deposits also will rise.
