MOSCOW -(Dow Jones)- Maxi-Group, one of Russia's largest processors of steel scrap, has appealed to President Vladimir Putin and local politicians to help it stave off a looming default, after creditors refused to refinance part of its 34-billion-ruble ($1.38 billion) debt burden.
