MOSCOW -(Dow Jones)- Maxi-Group, one of Russia's largest processors of steel scrap, appealed to President Vladimir Putin and local politicians Wednesday to help it stave off a looming default, after creditors refused to refinance part of its 34 billion ruble ($1.38 billion) debt burden.
